L298N DC Stepper Motor Driver Module Dual H Bridge Control Board for Arduino

Logic Power: The L298N driver

400 L

Key L298N 5V Power Details:

Logic Power: The L298N driver requires a 5V source for its internal logic circuits to operate.
Onboard Regulator (5V Jumper): When the motor voltage is between 6V and 12V, the onboard 5V regulator can be enabled using a jumper. This regulator allows you to power the logic from the main motor battery and provides a 5V output pin to power external devices like microcontrollers.
Without Jumper: If the motor power supply is higher than 12V, you must remove the jumper to avoid damaging the regulator, and provide a separate 5V supply to the 5V terminal.
Below 6V: If driving motors at 5V, the regulator will not work properly; the 5V terminal must be connected to a stable external 5V source.

Product features:
This module uses ST’s L298N as the main driver chip, which has the characteristics of strong driving ability, low heat generation, and strong anti-interference ability.
This module can be powered by the built-in 78M05 through the driving power supply, but to avoid damage to the voltage regulator chip, when using a driving voltage greater than 12V, please use an external 5V logic power supply.
This module uses large capacity filtering capacitors and freewheeling protection diodes to improve reliability.

matters needing attention:
When your driving voltage (marked as 12V input in the above figure, the actual acceptable input range is 7-12V) is 7V
-At 12V, the onboard 5V logic power supply can be enabled. After using the onboard 5V power supply, the+5V in the interface
Power supply does not require input voltage, but can provide 5V voltage for external use. (This is a regular application!)
2. When the driving voltage is higher than 12V and less than or equal to 24V (the chip manual states that it can support up to 35V, but according to the specifications)
The maximum voltage support for conservative applications up to 24V is already impressive When, for example, to drive a rated voltage of
An 18V motor. Firstly, the jumper cap that enables the onboard 5V output must be removed. Then connect 5V externally to the 5V output port
5V enable refers to a control signal with a voltage level of 5V. When this signal is valid and the power supply in the motor drive module is normal, the motor drive module outputs current. Otherwise, even if the power supply is normal, there will be no current on the motor.
Voltage supplies power to the internal logic circuit of L298N. (This is an unconventional application driven by high voltage!)
